Robbie has a few new skills these days. He still can't (won't?) crawl, but he doesn't really need to. He's figured out how to bounce across the floor on his butt. The video below was taken last week. He's got a lot faster since then. The first video also shows him transitioning from sitting to his belly. He's been working on that skill for a while. There were lots of head thumps for a bit, but he seems to have it down now.
He also is clapping and waving. He's been doing both for a little while now, but he's now getting much more dependable about it. These days you can say "bye bye" and he waves. Often while staring at the door wondering who's leaving. And almost any time you say "yay!" or someone on the TV cheers, he joins in.

Awww, GO ROBBIE!!! That is awesome! And I love seeing his chub! :)
Love him!
he is so cute! and he sure gives mr. flamingo a work out! Luca treats his sophie giraffe the same way! we had a friend whose nickname was scoots because he scooted across the floor on his bottom like robbie does! love it.
Oh! So cute, just love watching him grow up. Thanks for sharing!
Robbie's just going to show us all how HE's going to do it! TOO cute, and SO exciting!
He is adorable as usual! I wonder if butt scooting is common in kids with g tubes? There's another blog I follow that her g tube son butt scoots too!
I couldn't get the videos to work, darn it! Yay on clapping and bye bye. Wish I could see the butt bouncing! :-)
Those were the cutest videos! Go Robbie!!!
OMG He looks awesome! I cant get over how huge he is now! And just talking away! So proud of this big boy! Hes come a long way! I was thinking though - u said he wont crawl.. I know with my kids they wouldnt do it on hardwood because it hurt their knees but once we moved to a house with carpet they started doing it. Try putting him on a soft rug and maybe he will try! HTH :)
Emily- thanks for the suggestion. Daycare has carpet and he won't do it there, either. We have a couple of carpeted bedrooms, so I put him in there occasionally, too. It's just easier for him to get traction.
He will get up on his knees and rock, but so far, just won't crawl.
He'll scoot backwards, though. Little weirdo. ;)
Where there's a will there's a way!
Finally able to view the video. So cute! One of my girls did the butt scoot like that before she crawled. Soooo funny - she would get going super fast. Looks like he is so close to crawling!!! Yay!
