10w5d Milestone

I tried to use the Doppler tonight- no luck. There were some brief seconds I thought it was getting something on the screen but couldn't focus on it or hear it at all. I didn't freak out or anything. I would have obviously preferred to hear it, but it's early, I know that.

And about 20 minutes after that, I hit a milestone- first barf of this pregnancy. I've definitely been gagging my head off for weeks, and there was a day in the car I really thought it was going to happen, but so far it hadn't. I'd even gotten to the point where I'd stopped running to the bathroom because as much as I gagged, I just didn't puke.

But tonight it hit me and I thought "um, that feels like it's really coming" so fortunately I decided to play it safe and go stare at the toilet water for a few minutes. Good thing I did. And man, I really did feel better afterward. Honestly, I don't think I've felt this un-nauseated in weeks. Puking is no fun, but it was a bit of a relief.

My NT scan is next Thursday, so we should get a very long, very good look at the baby then. I'm really hoping to hear the baby on the Doppler before then, but even if I can't, that's not a REALLY long time, so hopefully I can hold it together until then.

I tried to hear a heartbeat in the office at 10 weeks plus and I couldn't find one either. Crazy tiny babies! Hope you get to hear it soon!!!

With Sam, I had the cerclage done as outpatient surgery at 13 weeks. While in the recovery room, waiting for the epidural to wear off, a nurse was checking me over and got the Doppler to make sure the baby was ok. After 30 minutes she COULD.NOT.FIND.IT. Needless to say I was becoming completely unglued, but then she got the Dr who was able to get it right away. Huge sigh of relief, but to this day I could kill that nurse.

Thanks guys. I tried again this morning with a full bladder (eek! the pressure!) and still no luck. I still almost thought I heard a quick thump-thump once but just the 2 so I don't know.

I also barfed again before bed. i ate 2 mini banana muffins and a glass of milk and it promptly came straight back up. I think I broke the seal. We'll see how today goes.

I do wish I coudl find it. I'm going to tell my grandma and aunt this weekend (they're in town for Robbie's birthday) and telling people always makes me nervous, but you know.. not quite 11w plus I'm fat. I know it's hard.
I didn't even try with Robbie until 13w.

I remember the days of looking for that tiny little heartbeat!! So crazy!! I would do a mental grid on my tummy like some type of archeologist dig site!! Wait a couple of days and try again! Can't wait to hear about the scan!

Hang in there on the sickness. It sucks, but it means stuff is happening. Can't wait to hear your results from the doctor next week!
