scared

Overnight his heart rate has been very low. Anywhere from 60-100bpm. We still use the apnea monitor at home at night which has a lower limit of 80bpm. So he is not normally below that.

His monitors here have been going crazy all night.

No one knows why.

All his other vitals are normal so for now they're just watching him closely.

I've been up most of the night sick w/worry.

Please pray..

**update**
Pedi was just in and said that it could be his thyroid. She's going to ask Dr. GI to order a check.

She also said that his resting heart rate can be that low. I told her that our lower limit at home is 80 and it hasn't gone off in months. She said that since he was anemic, that would drive his heart rate UP, so now that he has gotten the transfusions, his heart rate could be lower.

They're watching it closely but not freaking out. She did make me feel a little bit better but I still feel like puking.

I really hope they get things figured out soon. I'll be thinking of you all day. And I hope that you are taking care of yourself while you care for Robbie (in addition to the Sluhees, of course).

They better not break him!!! I'm glad the "experts" aren't overly concerned, but I'm sure it scares the absolute crap out of you. Know that I'm thinking of you and praying that it all gets resolved.

Wish I were there to help. I'd definitely have an Icee or ten with you. Do they have spoon straws?

I have been so busy with work lately, I've lost touch with my blogs. I'm so sorry to see that his heart rate is acting really low. You are all in my prayers.

So sorry to see that he's in the hospital, but glad he's getting the care he needs and this will sound odd, but glad that the nurses are feeding him and he's displaying the same eating behavior. I know doctors and nurses sometimes act like it might be the parent. I've always had to push to let them know I'm not nuts and this is the situation. I love my ped too!!!

Good luck and I'll be thinking about you.

Enya did the same thing at about 6-7 months actual, our cardiologist wasn't worried as she said it was normal for the resting heartrate to become lower as the infant got older.
I hope they get things figured out soon and you all get to come home soonest!

I continue to keep your family in my thoughts & prayers. Sending you big hugs - you're such a strong mommy and that has obviously rubbed off on your little guy.

Oh I am praying for you guys. I am sorry--this has been such a long and scary road for you. Robbie is scrappy and a little fighter. I am glad docs are monitoring him--between the doctors and you and DH, Robbie is in such good hands.

Praying for some peace for you. I can not imagine, honey. Please hang in there. Much love, Jill (Mission Impossible from Nest)

I have followed your story since the beginning but never commented. I just want to tell you that you, your husband, and Robbie are in my prayers. I hope the dr's figure out whats going on soon and you guys get to go home and Robbie gets to eating!

Oh boy... I'm praying for you for sure. When we were in the NICU, Avery had a low resting heart rate and the monitors would beep so loud and I would shake her awake because it's just so scary... I can't imagine trying to deal with all night long at home...
