Another quickie

so sorry for no big post last night.

My internet at home was down. I'm at work now, so only have a minute.

+45 grams. he's a little over 3lb 6oz now.

The new NICU is like a whole new world. It's so quiet.

Robbie's NICU girlfriend got transferred as well, she's 2 beds away now. I guess they were iffy about letting her go, but the charge nurse (who wanted to be our primary but is training for some new stuff and couldn't) lobbied that she needed to stay with Robbie. So cute!

Her mom and I were trying to figure out why it's so much quieter in the new area.

It's not even the just-opened-in-June part. It's one of the old rooms, but it's still at least twice as roomy and probably three times quieter. It's like the old NICU has a hum or something.

There are also probably four times as many babies in the old NICU as where we are now, so there are also just way less people, but it's really a white noise difference that is striking.

Otherwise, he's doing well. The next step is that they're going to try to wean down his flow rate (how much air he gets through his cannula) so that he can start trying to nipple (learn to feed through a bottle) a bit. My big post is about feeding, so I'll save more details for that. I'll try to get it up tonight, but might be tomorrow.
