Well, it would see the Cox family curse continues.
Early this morning, I noticed my dog's left cheek looked bigger than his right. Sure enough, a lump. A really large lump. It's actually inside his mouth. It's probably and inch and a half around, growing out of his gum line.
I called the vet as soon as they opened and was in to see the doctor an hour later. They agree- giant lump. He also has a 2nd smaller one on the other side of the mouth.
They said it could be an infection or a couple of different kinds of cancer. He's scheduled for surgery on July 22.
My pup is a 10 year old Boxer. They're quite prone to cancer and he's old. I'm obviously afraid of the worst.
I think it would be wise to stay far, far away from me right now. Typhoid Trish strikes again.

We still love you.
I'll go and get another goat. . .
I hope it's nothing! My Mom's 10 year old dog- they just found a mass in her abdomen the size of a softball, they opened her up to operate and it was her spleen enlarged. There was a 75% chance it was cancer and it wasn't! She's on the road to being back to her ornery self. So- I pray it's the same for your pup
I am sorry. boxers are great dogs. I will put him in my prayers with the rest of you.
its only an infection... its only an infection. I don't know how big Kenzie is, but 10 is not that old for a dog. So let's just go with infection.
Just added one boxer to our prayer list.
If you have a good vet (and I'd bet you do) he's in good hands.
:-) as long as mrs. spit can rustle up a goat though... insurance is a good thing.
Aw, sweetie. I feel for you.
I am praying for your pup. I am such a dog lover that I can't imagine any dog going through any pain. *hugs*
Sometimes it just seems that EVERYTHING is piling up on you. Is was (is) like that for me since the boys were born. I learned to never say that things couldn't get any worse. The universe always found a way!
I hope that things settle down and a calm surrounds your family (animals, too). I also hope that your furbaby is okay.
